Tension for Juniors

50-54 lbs for juniors. Can string slightly higher than stiffer polys due to softer feel.

Gauge Recommendation

16 (1.30mm) for durability, 16L (1.25mm) for better feel.

Overview

Luxilon Element occupies a fairly unique space in Luxilon's iconic line of firm monofilament strings. Like its predecessors (M2 Pro and M2 Plus), Element features Multi-Mono Technology - several tendon-friendly fibers wrapped inside a specially designed polymer matrix. The benefit comes in the form of extra flexibility, comfort and power. It's the most arm-friendly polyester in the Luxilon lineup, making it an excellent choice for developing juniors ready to move beyond synthetic gut. Reviewers note it's soft enough to recommend to first-time poly players.

Best For

  • Juniors transitioning from synthetic gut to poly
  • Players wanting poly spin with more comfort
  • Intermediate to advanced players
  • Those with mild arm sensitivity
  • First-time poly players

Not Ideal For

  • Elite players wanting maximum control
  • Heavy topspin players wanting more bite
  • Players needing maximum spin potential

Pros

  • + Most comfortable Luxilon poly
  • + Good spin for a soft poly
  • + Suitable for younger players (12+)
  • + Much easier on the arm than ALU Power
  • + Good all-around performance
  • + Great touch for a poly string

Cons

  • Less control than stiffer polys
  • Loses tension faster than 4G
  • Not as much spin as textured options
  • May feel too soft for elite players
  • Less durable than ALU Power
