We compare it with the UTR ranges for D1, D2, D3 and NAIA programs for your player's gender.
How to read the fit
Top-program level means your player's UTR is at or above what the strongest programs in that division usually recruit. In range means they are inside the typical recruiting range. Walk-on range means they are below the typical minimum but at a level where walk-on spots are possible. Below range shows the gap to close.
Ranges come from our UTR by college division pages. They are typical ranges, not official cut-offs, and they move a little every year.
Questions parents ask
What UTR do you need to play college tennis?
It depends on the division and gender. Using our division data, D1 women's programs recruit from about UTR 9.0 and D1 men's from about 11.5; D3 and NAIA programs start much lower. Each division page lists the full range, the top-program level and the walk-on level.
What does "gap" mean here?
The gap is how many UTR points your player needs to gain to reach a division's typical minimum, or its top-program level. A gap of 0 means your player is already there.
How is the projection calculated?
If you have logged ratings over at least 30 days in the progress tracker, we fit a straight-line trend through them and extend it to August 1 before senior year, when most recruiting decisions happen. It is a simple estimate: real progress is rarely a straight line.
Does a UTR in range guarantee a roster spot?
No. Coaches also weigh results, trajectory, academics, character, roster needs and video. Use the fit as a guide to where to focus your outreach, not as a promise.
