Most durable tennis strings for string breakers
Top 12 of 32 matching strings in our database. #1 is Luxilon Big Banger Original.
Big hitters with heavy topspin can break a soft string in a few hits. If your player snaps strings every week or two, durability starts to matter more than feel.
Strings that last tend to be stiff, so watch for arm pain and keep the tension moderate. Each card shows the arm-friendliness score so you can balance the two.

How we ranked
We kept strings with a durability rating of 8 or more (1–10), ranked them by durability, and broke ties with tension maintenance.
Ratings come from our string database, built from manufacturer specs, lab tests and published reviews. Each string page lists its sources. 20 more strings passed the filter but did not make the top 12.
Questions parents ask
Why does my kid break strings so often?
Heavy topspin makes the main strings slide and saw against the crosses. Thin gauges and soft multifilaments break first. A thicker gauge or a durable polyester usually lasts longer.
Will a thicker gauge help?
Yes. A 16 gauge (1.30 mm) lasts longer than a 17 (1.25 mm) of the same string, at the cost of a little spin and feel.
Are durable strings bad for the arm?
They often are stiffer. Check the arm dots on each card, string a few pounds lower, and stop if your player feels pain.
